For over 240 years, the Society has worked to help revitalise the highlands, islands and rural communities of Scotland by showcasing what was best about Scottish agriculture and rural life.  These founding principles remain in place today and the Society is now regarded as the respected standard-bearer of the farming and rural industries.

Such a rich heritage allows the Society to combine traditional values with a modern approach.  Events such as the world-famous Royal Highland Show, distinguished awards for excellence and achievement and The Royal Highland Education Trust’s noted work with schools, are only a few examples of how the Society communicates key messages about Scottish agriculture and associated industries.
